Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force
Vermont Freedom to Marry is a nonprofit, all-volunteer resource for marriage equality in Vermont. It’s complicated and expensive juggling in-state marriage equality and federal and out-of-state discrimination. VFM strives to answer questions around same-sex marrying in Vermont, financial and tax issues, family and child custody concerns, and more. As long as Vermont couples are discriminated against outside our borders and within our state by the federal government, our work for marriage equality continues.

Spectrum is a nationally recognized leader in homeless youth programs. We have been offering shelter and community to Vermont's homeless and at-risk youth, and their families, for 41 years. Spectrum provides a continuum of services ranging from counseling to mentoring to residential living programs. Our work with each client is tailored to the needs of the individual. We offer: counseling, Drop In Center, Health Clinic, Jump On Board for Success (JOBS), Mentoring, Street Outreach, Residential Programs, Violence Intervention and Prevention Programs, Youth and Family Wellness Project, Youth Development Program, and Youth in Transition (YIT). We work one-on-one with each young person (ages 14-21) that walks through our doors. Our philosophy is never to give up; we are their advocates, and we give youth first chances, second chances, and third chances.

TransAction @ RU12?
VT TransAction is a coalition of community members and organizations that formed in 2004 to pass legislation inVermont to get gender identity and gender expression included in Vermont's non-discrimination legislation. In July 2007 the Gender Identity Non-discrimination bill was passed into law, creating legal protections for transgender Vermonters. The new law adds "gender identity" to the classes of people who are protected from discrimination in employment, housing, banking, public accommodations and other statutes. Our work is not done however! TransAction is now working on the implementation of the new law and related issues and invite all VT Transgender people and allies to join in the work of VT TransAction.
